Bohemian Ballerina

I won this amazing Free People display dress from their winter contest and I knew the only way to wear it was with some pointe shoes.  This dress is so whimsical and wonderful and I'm so happy I can finally show it off!

The beading on this dress is seriously gorgeous.

Pretty Little Liar

If anyone is a PLL fan like me you know the girls always look amazing.  This week Aria was wearing a necklace I have but in orange, so I decided to build a look around the necklace.  This look is super youthful and full of color.
As usual I have a pair of thigh high socks on, these are by Urban Outfitters.  My grown up Mary Jane's are by Topshop, (similar).  My obsession with white shoes continues on.
Pairing this statement necklace with this Fair Isle sweater by Gap is super unexpected.  It allows you to wear a casual sweater in a more dressed up way.
This necklace is by Anthropologie (similar), the color complimented this sweater perfectly.  A statement necklace is great to own to dress up any look, find necklaces that have colors and textures that fit your wardrobe best, so you can wear it over and over!

I love this bandage circle skirt (similar),  it is such a easy to wear and flattering piece

I am all about the basics lately, which is so different for me.  Clean and simple shapes are really speaking to me.  I have been super inspired by the simplicity of the street styles coming out of mens fashion week.
My black blazer is by Sin Clarity, (also look out for me in their spring lookbook).  I paired it over a simple white tee by Splendid.   These Levi's are my goto, I love the look of pairing them over a stiletto boot.

I loveee my cheetah totes umbrella!  It goes perfectly with my boots and adds so much fun to any outfit on a drab day!
Totes is currently holding a contest to be the new face of Totes, and if I can't win I want it to be one of my readers! Enter Here!

 Mary Poppins! Is that you?

Double animal print is totally socially acceptable when in small amounts.

Shuffle off to Buffalo

Graphic tees and pencil skirts have been all over my instagram feed lately (@mermaidwaves follow me), so I decided to do a version of my own!  Warning, there is a lot of buffalo check.
I can never find the right graphic tee that fits my personality, but I love this one.  My mom bought it for herself a week ago and I have already stolen it twice.  This tee is by Levi's (similar).
This leather paneled skirt from Anthropologie (similar) is great for day time because of the light heather grey material.  Since the skirt was too big for my waist I "belted" it with a buffalo check shirt from Madewell (similar).  This shirt adds more dimension to the otherwise pretty basic look and makes it much more suitable for day time!

My jewels as usual are from Rocksbox,  this week is the last week to use code danixoxo at checkout to receive a free month of Rocksbox.  Sign up now!

My buffalo boots are by Chooka.  These are a perfect boot for walking through to snow and you never have to worry about ruining them.

If you cleanse the inside of your body you should also cleanse your outfits from time to time.  Take a hint from the Olsen's street style, steer clear of color and patterns and go for the basics.
I am wearing a simple three piece outfit,  a pair of Gap jeans, a tee, and a blazer.  This outfit would also be super hot in black, but I went for a softer look with the grey.
These cute kicks are by Vince, I am so anti-flat but sometimes I need to give my ballerina toes a break.
I chose to incorporate a little color in my look with these bracelets by Lazaro.  I love that they are so simple and sparkle free keeping the outfit super casual.  Not sorry if my thigh gap offends anyone.

Since I'm a girl I will never be able to rock a man bun, but this is my take on the ever fabulous style.

Texture, texture, texture!  For winter layering is obviously a must, I like to pretend I am making a collage.  Start with the big pieces then fill in the gaps, I began with the pants and knit vest.  Don't forget to enter code danixoxo at checkout for a free month of Rocksbox!
My sequined tank is from Urban Outfitters (similar), I used this piece to give the outfit a punch of color.    This loopy vest is from Anthropologie (similar),  if you ever wished you could wear a rug, this vest is your chance.
I love the draping on these Very J pants (similar).  The bow detailing makes these harem pants perfect for day or night.

These Levi's boots are a staple in my wardrobe (they aren't even mine lol).   I was being quite risky in mixing my shades of brown but if gr-outfits work why can't a br-outfit?!
Yes, I did this braid myself.  I added super large chunks while doing my dutch braid, then at the end pulled the loops apart giving a voluminous braid.
Teddy bear fur is my favorite kind of fur, there is no way you can be unhappy in teddy bear fur.  This coat is from Anthropologie (similar).

Always Classy

We all know that an LBD is necessary for every girls closet but finding the one for you is the hardest part.  I always seem to go for the loudest dress in the room but this dress from H&M caught my eye.  Look for textures and silhouettes that are totally you, I love the little embellishments and short sleeves.
H&M has probably the strangest sizing but if you are an itty bitty like me it is the best.  The most important thing to remember when finding your goto LBD is how you feel in it.  Anything that fits me makes me feel fabulous so this dress earned major points for that.
I added a chunky white heel from Topshop with girly socks from Modcloth to make this look my own.    You could pair this dress with a number of shoes from colored pumps to black boots.

The embellishments on this dress are super sweet and make this dress look way more high end than it is!  The shape of this dress is a great way to wear a fitted dress but not look like a middle schooler in a body con dress (don't feel bad, I thought it was cute at the time too).
I decided to skip jewels and went with a simple hair style to make the dress the center of attention.
